With a heavy heart and as the founder of the IIIB’s Foundation, I am very sad to announce that the 11th Pink Tie Breast Cancer Charity Ball that was scheduled for Valentine’s Saturday, February 11, 2023, will be cancelled.
As you know, we are a very small organization, and I am intricately involved with all aspects of the operations of the IIIB’s Foundation. Unfortunately, I have been dealing with some health issues and was unexpectedly diagnosed with anal cancer this past week. I should be in the middle of treatment soon making it impossible for our organization to hold this event.
This was a very difficult decision to make as the Pink Tie Breast Cancer Charity Ball gives breast cancer patients a “Cinderella Evening” to enjoy and to be celebrated. It also serves as our biggest fundraiser, and it can raise up to $100,000 to fund our Bosom Buddy Baskets supporting women going through breast cancer now and who may not have time to wait for a cure.
The impact of this year’s cancellation is also especially difficult since we have not been able to hold the event the last 2 years due to Covid. Even though we will not be able to spend Valentine’s together celebrating our 2023 Bosom Buddy Beauties, we would be truly grateful to have your continued support to carry on our mission of comforting breast cancer patients.
I cannot express what each one of you and every act of generosity and kindness offered to me and the IIIB’s throughout the last 18 years has meant to me. The good news is, that with appropriate funding and the continued work of Jackie and volunteers, the IIIB’s will still be able to continue our daily operations of making and delivering Bosom Buddy Baskets to the women who need them.
In closing, I want to sincerely thank each one of you from the bottom of my heart for your support and for helping to Keep the Candle Glowing! Without you, we could not have done what we have accomplished to date, and I can’t wait to see what we will continue to do together! As I have always said, “Let’s Make a Difference Today!”
